Induction Set

The induction is set for Sunday night at 8, and I am having my membranes stripped (again) tomorrow. I really really hope this little guy comes on his own!! I'd rather not be strapped to Pitocin for hours while i have intense contractions... plus induction has its risks. I wouldn't be doing it at all if I didn't have low fluid.

Either way, in less than a week I will be a mom! (Presumably... there are a few cases of induction not working...) Exciting to think about...

  1. OK, since I've never gone through this process and neither has my wife, what is "induction"?

  2. it's when the doctor gives you artificial hormones to stimulate labor. some people have elective inductions so that they can schedule the baby to arrive at a certain date, but usually inductions are only performed if medically necessary, because it carries some risk. it strengthens your contractions so much that the baby could becomes stressed.
